Being a person in recovery Boris has been an advocate in healthcare and Substance Abuse arena. Furthermore, Boris is engaged with Back to Life/ Phoenix Substance Abuse In-patient Rehabilitation Center in Israel in which he provides an array of services that include preventions, education, intervention and referrals.

Boris currently provides Certified CRPA-P Peer Advocate services for First Steps to Recovery, located in Brighton Beach an OASIS licensed outpatient clinic. In his roll as peer Advocate and Recovery coach Boris supports and assists clients in all aspects of their recovery, including but not limiting to case management, help with AA/NA and other self-help fellowships, housing, social services, job placement and legal matters including dealing with state and city parole agencies, courts, and justice system. For First Steps To Recovery Boris is also building the so much needed Russian track within the organization. Boris also consults addicts and their families as a recovery coach within the Russian community of greater NY and volunteers as recovery coach in Genesis Beacon of Hope Detox of Brooklyn.
