Substance Use Treatment Services

When people fall into the grip of an addiction, it becomes extremely difficult for them to quit on their own. Understanding how addictions develops helps to shed light on why they are so hard to beat.

Medications for Opioid use Disorder

Effective medications exist to treat opioid use disorder: methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone. These medications could help many people recover from opioid use disorder, but they remain highly underutilized. Fewer than half of private-sector treatment programs offer medications for opioid use disorders, and of patients in those programs who might benefit, only a third actually receive it. Here at first steps we are combating opioid use disorder with the right medications.

Same Day Suboxone and Vivitrol Inductions

If you or your loved one has an opioid use disorder, Suboxone and Vivitrol both may help reduce craving and protect against relapse. Vivitrol, however, may be harder to start as it requires a period of at least a few days of opioid abstinence.

Health Screening and Assessment

The screening process occurs once you make that attempt to reach out to us. We determine wether an individual is in need of our services and is completly free. An assessment is a more detailed process for defining the nature of a substance problem. An assessment is used to diagnose substance use disorders (SUDs), co-occurring disorders, and to develop specific treatment recommendations such as residential or outpatient treatment.

Telehealth and Online Therapy for Addiction

If going to a treatment program in person is inconvenient, impractical or impossible for yourself or a loved one, consider telemedicine options. First Steps offers outpatient treatment for alcohol and drug addiction and other mental health conditions through telehealth technologies.
